Meet: The Band of Grace de Gier!

Grace has her own live band and they all rehears regularly in order to set a great live show on stage. Grace is the lead singer and she is accompanied by four great musicians, who all have their own experiences and background in music. And that makes the band a great mix! The band consists of two guitarists, one bass guitarist and a drummer. For some songs another instrument, like an accordeon or a violin, is added to the show, played by a guest performer.


Erik Mensink, Drummer

Music has always been part of drummer Erik Mensink’s life. He improved his drumming through study at a school of music and at the conservatory. He played in small and larger musical groups, domestically and abroad. He has a wide interest and a lot of experience leading from Jazz to Rock to Classical music.

Frank Arahman, Bass guitar

Frank has been playing the bass guitar in different ensembles ever since he was 20 years old. Jazz and Funk are important to him, however he also likes to play Classical music. With Grace he plays rock which he likes as well.

Tijmen de Koning, Guitar

With a background in evangelical church bands, Tijmen has developed as a guitarist and singer throughout the years. After university and a few years of working in an office he decided to dedicate all his time to music. Last year he ran the succesful Popup Choir to make people sing together. Furthermore he is also spins the decks as a DJ, with his groovy disco sets.

Andy Vasco, Guitar

Andres (Andy) Vasco is originally from Ecuador and has worked as a sound engineer, mixer, and sound designer since 2013. He entered the sound recording and engineering program at USFQ in Quito in 2011 – a Berklee International Network Institution, where he earned years of technical knowledge and experience in the field of studio recording, as well as mixing and mastering. During his undergrad he worked with dozens of bands of different genres, becoming proficient in producing divers types of music. At the same time he spent the evenings working at music venues and festivals doing stage setup and live sound for bands varying from Jazz to Metal.

Andy has studied in-depth music theory, ear training, conducting and sight reading. Accompanied with private guitar lessons from the best teachers in Ecuador, all this made him a well-rounded musician. He has played in venues all over Ecuador, the UK and the US from 2013 onwards and plays many different genres including Rock, Metal, Jazz and Funk.
